Stuart Wolfendale MA (Cantab) is an independent columnist, copyrighter and consultant who advises people on pronunciation, language etiquette and speech-making.

Stuart is an Englishman who was educated at the Manchester Grammar School and read History at Cambridge University. He spent the first ten years after graduating as an Administrative grade civil servant in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong governments.

He spent a number of years as a freelance columnist, critic and writer based in Hong Kong. He has contributed to newspapers and magazines in the region as well as the United Kingdom and North America since 1985.

He has lived as a correspondent writer in Jakarta, Phnom Penh and Los Angeles and he is a former Vice President of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Hong Kong.

Stuart has been involved in spoken English consulting for the past seven years. He holds a Cambridge University Certificate in Teaching English to Adults and a Hong Kong Institute of Education Certificate in Phonetics and Phonology.
